Fitness and Nutritional Background

Fitness

When Michael is not in the kitchen, you will find him in the gym practicing what he preaches for over 35 years now. He began exercising when he was 12 years old, from then on he studied nutrition and is a self taught chef.  Applying his nutritional knowledge to fitness programming before it was a trend has made him a pioneer in the fitness industry.

Michael grew up eating all of the Philadelphia favorites, soft pretzels, cheesesteaks and Italian water ice, playing baseball, stick-ball, half-ball, basketball and street games such as jailbreak, cops and robbers, and buck-buck, childhood activities which are rarely seen nowadays. Scipione has long believed sports and outdoor activities are the backbone to childhood growth and development which implement discipline, focus, responsibility and leadership, producing a succesful future for our youth.

He soon realized exercise alone wasn't enough to excel in sports, and a healthier diet would have an impact on his performance and muscle growth. He began reading Muscle and Fitness Magazine, studying nutrition, started cooking for himself at the age of 12, while implementing those healthy foods into his diet. He never dreamed that only 13 years later that he would open a  successful personal training studio in South Philadelphia.

Michael embodies the absolute definition of healthy eating and fitness, as he couples culinary expertise with fitness, nutrition and strength training certifications. Whether you're seeking impeccable event food service or a personal chef to aid in physical wellness, culinary set design or top-notch restaurant consultation, look no further than the all-encompassing Sano by Michael Scipione brand.
